Peru State's Make a Difference Day Comes to Falls City Saturday
10/17/2013

(KTNC) -  Fans attending Saturday’s Peru State versus Culver-Stockton football game in Falls City can help a couple local charities.
As part of the annual “Make a Difference Day,” the Peru State College athletic teams are collecting “cold weather” items that will be donated to the Nemaha County Gives Back program and Project Response.
The Peru State Student Athlete Advisory Council is organizing the donation drive as a friendly competition among the school’s athletic teams.
They’ll collect seasonal items such as cough drops, mittens, hats, disinfectant sprays and wipes, and cold and flu medicine.  Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Peru State students can begin dropping off items in team boxes at the Student Center beginning next week.
A donation box will also be available at Jug Brown Stadium during Saturday’s Bobcat football game against Culver-Stockton.  Donations will also be accepted at Peru State’s homecoming game in Nebraska City on November 2.
Some of the clothing items will be donated to the Nemaha County Gives Back program.  Most of the donations will go to Project Response, which is a domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy agency that serves Nemaha, Richardson, Otoe, Pawnee, and Johnson Counties in southeast Nebraska.
