(KTNC) - The City of Humboldt continues its focus on cleaning up properties. The City Council approved a resolution Tuesday night declaring as nuisances properties that had been inspected by the city’s code enforcer.
The city will send notices to those property owners, who will then have 30 days to bring their properties into compliance with city codes. The Humboldt City Council will consider taking legal action against property owners whose properties aren’t in compliance after the 30-day period.
In other business this week, City Attorney Vic Faesser met with the council. They discussed bills approved by the legislature that pertain to the city. The council instructed Faesser to draft ordinances for those bills that affect the city. Those ordinances will be considered at the next city council meeting.
Also on the next City Council agenda will be an ordinance to increase the city’s water reconnection fee from $25 to $50.
The council approved a payment to Ericksen Construction in the amount of $91,980 for work on the city's water improvement project.
The City of Humboldt is also getting cost estimates for new, black-and-white, four-inch, street signs.
