(KAIR) -- A former Platte County Commissioner is dead following a two vehicle accident over the weekend in Plate County.
According to the Platte County Sheriff's Department, 76-year-old Alfred Kyle was pronounced dead early Sunday morning at the Kansas Medical Center.
The accident occurred Saturday evening just after 9:30 near 27015 Missouri Highway 92 near Leavenworth.
A 1997 Toyota Tacoma Driven by 20-year-old Nicholas Pursel turned west onto 92 from a business driveway, striking a 2010 Toyota Matrix driven by an eastbound Kyle.
Pursel was also transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The accident remains under investigation to determine if any charges will be filed.
Kyle was a Platte County Commissioner from 1975 to 1980.
