( KMZA )--A Solomon woman has been hired as the new principal at Valley Heights Junior-Senior High School in Marshall County.
During a recent special meeting, the USD 498 board of education voted to offer the job to Shelly Swayne who has been the Solomon High School principal since 2010.
Prior to that, Swayne served as assistant principal and activities director at Andover High School for three years.
She will replace Don Potter, who will become principal of an intermediate school in Neodesha on August 1st.
