(KTNC) - The City of Auburn is seeking more applicants for its Owner-Occupied Housing Rehab program. In January, the Nebraska Department of Economic Development awarded the city nearly 225-thousand dollars to rehab seven owner-occupied homes.
Those encouraged to apply for the assistance are homeowners with income at 50-percent of the median income. Those with income at 80-percent of median income are also encouraged to apply.
Construction needs specific to each home will be determined by an inspection of the home, and typically includes heating, plumbing, roofs, windows, and doors. The cost of the repairs cannot exceed $24,995.
Applications are available at Auburn City Hall, or can be obtained by contacting Lisa Beethe at the Southeast Nebraska Development District, at 402-862-2201.
Applications can be returned to the SENDD office in Humboldt, and will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis until all the funds are obligated.
