(KAIR) -- Two suspects of a December drug sweep by Atchison Police have some of their counts dismissed after their preliminary hearings Thursday in Atchison County District Court.
Michael Scott had one count of distribution of a narcotic and one count of no drug tax stamp dismissed while pleading not guilty to another count of distribution of a narcotic, no drug tax stamp and use of a telecommunication device to facilitate a transaction.
A jury trial is set for March 5th.
Earnest Crawford had one count of no drug tax stamp dismissed and was bound over for arraignment January 28th on one count of possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute after his hearing.
Both are free on bond.
They are two of 20 suspects charged with various drug related charges in connection to a covert drug investigation conducted by police from the end of September through December 18th.
Kyle Ferris has already pled not guilty to his charges and a jury trial is planned for February 12th.
Many of the remaining suspects are in the continuation process requested by their attorneys in order for them to review the case files.
