(KTNC) - A lengthy investigation into thefts and drug offenses in Richardson County has produced results. The Richardson County Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Department, and Falls City Police Department have been involved in the investigation.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, the investigation has produced information that has cleared the majority of rural theft cases in Richardson County and many theft cases in Falls City.
Authorities say the investigation has also provided details about the methods used in the thefts and how the stolen property is either sold or bartered for drugs.
The investigation is continuing and more arrests are anticipated in connection with the cases. Anyone with additional information regarding the thefts should contact the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office or Falls City Police Department.
In an unrelated case, the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office has obtained an arrest warrant for another suspect in recent thefts.
They say 26-year-old Matthew Heideman owns a pickup that was found abandoned on a farm in western Richardson County. Items found in the truck were identified as being stolen from Johnson County. The truck has been impounded pending completion of the investigation and filing of formal charges.
