The initial proposal includes a ban on adding students as friends on social media sites, such as Facebook, personal e-mails, as well as texting in any form to students’ personal cell phones.
In other business, the board approved the lowering of unsupervised access to their fitness center from 21 to 18 years of age, as well as removing the provision requiring a training session on equipment for new members.
The board also hired HTK Architects for a potential bond issue coming up next spring.
In addition, the board assembled a facilities planning team for the project, which includes various board members, an instructor from junior high, elementary and special ed, community members and consultants.
