(KAIR) -- A fiery Jefferson County accident claimed one early Sunday morning.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, at 3:20, crews were called to the intersection of Quail Hill Road and Valley View Road in the Lake Shore Estates Improvement District in rural Ozawkie where they found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
The investigation at the scene determined that the fire was a result of a one-vehicle fatality accident.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Kansas Highway Patrol C.H.A.R.T. team, Kansas State Fire Marshall’s Office, Jefferson County Ambulance, Jefferson County Coroner and Ozawkie Township Fire Department.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification of the deceased.
