(KAIR) -- A 19-year-old Cummings man is recovering from injuries after a single vehicle accident early Sunday morning on U-S 59 highway in Atchison County.
According to Undersheriff Larry Myer, the accident was reported to the sheriff's department shortly after 4:30 a.m. at the Kiowa Road intersection.
Myer said Cory Nolting was traveling north when he fell alseep at the wheel. His 1993 Saturn went off the right side of the road. Nolting overcorrected and went off the left side of the road where his car hit the ditch and rolled twice, landing in a bean field.
Nolting was transported by private vehicle to the Atchison Hospital with head and other non-life threatening injuries.
Myer says Nolting was wearing his seatbelt.
