A 55-year-old rural Everest man is dead following a single vehicle accident Tuesday evening.
According to Atchison County Undersheriff Larry Myer, Robin Smith was traveling southbound on Sedgwick Road north of Atchison when for an unknown reason he lost control of his vehicle just north of 314th Road shortly after 8:40 p.m.
Myer says the vehicle rolled one time and went into the ditch. Smith was ejected from the vehicle.
Lifestar helicopters landed but weren't used.
Instead, Smith was transported by Atchison EMS to the Atchison Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
