First year Peru State Volleyball coach Melvin Balogh has announced his initial recruiting class. Four players are set to join the Bobcat roster when fall camp begins in August.
One incoming player, Paige Riza of Ravenna, Texas, joined the team in January after transferring to Peru State from Faulkner University in Alabama. Riza is a 5’9 setter and previously played for the Dallas-based Premier Volleyball Club.
Another transfer set to join the Bobcats this fall is Britany Peterson, a 6-foot middle hitter from Orem, Utah. She is transferring from Taft College in Utah.
Two freshmen will also join the team in August. Lindsey Nelson is a 5’11 outside hitter from Granite Bay, California, and Brandie Luce is a 5’10 setter from Lincoln.
Peru State opens the volleyball season with a home scrimmage on Wednesday, August 22nd against the College of St. Mary. They begin the regular season August 24th, when they travel to Orange City, Iowa for the Red Raider Classic.
The ‘Cats first home match will be Wednesday, September 19, when they host a triangular with Central Christian College and Grace University.
