Richardson County is taking bids for a couple pieces of equipment for the County Road Department. The County Commission this week authorized Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert to advertise for sealed bids for the purchase of a new rock truck and a new crane.
Sealed bids for the rock truck will be accepted until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19th, and bids for a crane will be accepted until 11:15 that morning.
The board also gave Huppert permission to advertise for sealed bids for several road projects. The county will accept bids until 11:30 a.m. on June 19th for the overlay of two miles of the Dustless Highway and four miles of the Humboldt-Bern Road.
Sealed bids will be accepted until June 19th at 11:45 a.m. for armor coating on 6.2 miles of hard-surfaced road south of Rulo, six miles of hard-surfaced road on the Dustless Highway, and one mile within the Village of Preston.
During his report, Huppert told commissioners that the project on 704 Road, three miles south of Salem, had been completed. Commissioners approved a change order totaling $2,178 for additional rock and excavation work.
County Assessor Pam Vice and Appraiser Wayne Cole requested improvements to the computer hardware for the County Assessor’s office. They told commissioners that the current equipment is becoming obsolete and needs to be updated in order to comply with the software requirements for the assessment requirements in the county.
They also gave commissioners a quote for the replacement of the combination copier and printer with a copier-printer-scanner combination. The board requested a purchase order for that request so the expense could be budgeted for in the next year.
