Peru State Softball Season Ends with Losses to Baker
04/30/2012

The Peru State College softball team saw its season come to an end over the weekend, with a loss to Baker University in the quarterfinal round of the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament.
Peru State won the first game of the best-of-three series Friday, by a score of 5-4.
The second game started Friday night, but was postponed due to rain and was resumed Saturday.  Baker, which led 5-1 when the game was suspended, won the game by that score.
Baker then went on to win the rubber game of the series, scoring two unearned runs for a 2-0 victory.
Baker advances to the HAAC double-elimination tournament this weekend in Olathe, Kansas.  Peru State finishes the season with a 30-25 record.
Friday night’s win was the 500th career victory for Peru State head coach Mark Mathews.  All those wins have come at Peru State.
