Falls City residents will be able to dispose of unwanted items during a community clean up scheduled this weekend.
Falls City Sanitation and Koelzer Salvage will be set up in the city parking lot on 18th Street between Barada and Chase from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday. They will take large items, including furniture and metal objects that are too large for trash removal. Items will be disposed of free of charge.
Old prescription medication can be disposed of at the Richardson County Courthouse parking lot at 18th and Harlan, also from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
If you’d like to get rid of items that may have some life left in them, Goodwill Industries will be set up to take donations at Prichard Auditorium on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Goodwill will be at Prichard Auditorium from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and also from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, and again from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
A donation guide is available at Sun Mart, City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce office, and the Library and Arts Center.
Another Falls City Community Clean Up is being planned for the third weekend in October. That will include a collection of toxic materials, computers and electronic equipment, and paper shredding.
