25 year old John Scoby was arrested by the Richardson County Sheriff’s Department last Friday following a gas drive-off from the Co-Op station in Auburn.
A Co-Op employee followed the vehicle following the drive-off and provided a license plate number. The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department contacted the Richardson County Sheriff’s Department and a traffic stop was made on Highway 75.
It was discovered the pickup Scoby was driving had been reported stolen earlier in the day in Minnesota.
Scoby was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and no drivers license. Sheriff Randy Houser said Scoby has a lengthy criminal history including two prison sentences.
