(MSC News) --Area voters will have the chance to hear from candidates for political office at a Candidates Forum to be hosted by Highland Community College on Tuesday, October 18, at 7:00 pm in Culbertson Auditorium on the Highland campus. Candidates for offices have been invited, which include:
For United States Senate: Robert Garrard, Edgerton, Libertarian; Jerry Moran, Manhattan, Republican; Patrick Wiesner, Lawrence, Democratic
For United State House of Representatives, 2nd District: James Houston Bales, Lawrence, Libertarian; Lynn Jenkins, Topeka, Republican; Britani Potter, Ottawa, Democratic
For State Senator, 1st District: Jerry Henry, Cummings, Democratic; Dennis Pyle, Hiawatha, Republican
For Kansas House of Representatives, 63rd District: John Eplee, Atchison, Republican; W. Brett Neibling, Highland, Democratic
For State Board of Education, 6th District: Aaron Estabrook, Manhattan, Independent; Deena Horst, Salina, Republican
To date, those confirming their attendance are Britani Potter, who is running for the second district Congressional seat, Jerry Henry, candidate for the first district state senator position, W. Brett Niebling and John Eplee, candidates for the 63rd district of the state House of Representatives, and Deena Horst and Aaron Estabrook who are running for the State Board of Education. Candidates will be making statements and answering questions from those in attendance. The public is invited to attend this Candidate Forum to become informed prior to the November elections
