(KAIR)--An aerial rescue Wednesday, when two employees of an Atchison County agricultural company found themselves trapped fifty-feet off the ground.
It happened at Cargill Ag, located at 15662 258th Road.
Atchison County Emergency Preparedness Director Wes Lanter tells MSC News the employees were conducting maintenance next to the grain elevator when the lift they were in apparently malfunctioned.
Unable to return to the ground, the Atchison County Rescue Squad was called to the location around 1:00 to bring the two to safety.
Lanter says he requested assistance from the City of Atchison Fire Department, which arrived at the scene with their aerial ladder truck. It was utilized to bring the two employees safely to the ground.
No one was hurt during the situation.
Lanter says the rescue was conducted quickly, and calls it an example of Atchison County based emergency services being able to work together to serve the local citizens.
