(KAIR)--A Saint Joseph, Missouri woman goes to jail, arrested in connection with a December fight in Atchison that sent a woman to the hospital. “There had been a disturbance in the 13 hundred block of Maple around 11 PM on December the 12th, Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson tells MSC News.
He says 29-year-old Buffy Riley is now jailed in connection with the fight that left the victim with severe facial injuries. “During that disturbance, a 26-year-old female was injured. She had left the scene. We found her at another location and she was subsequently transported by EMS to the hospital with facial injuries, and she had some pretty severe contusions and lacerations about her face.”
Wilson says Riley was not immediately located following the altercation, but was later arrested by police in her city. “A District Court warrant was issued and the Saint Joseph, Missouri Police Department took her into custody on December 23rd in Saint Joseph on a District Court warrant from Atchison charging her with aggravated battery. She waived extradition and was brought back to Atchison Wednesday.”
Riley remains in the Atchison County Jail, held on a bond of $20,000.
