(KNZA)--The Mayetta-based Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation is spreading holiday cheer. That comes through two recent donations, amounting to thousands of dollars for regional charities, provided by the tribe. That includes the hand delivery of a $15,000 check to the Topeka Salvation Army. According to a press release from the tribe, the contribution is intended to make the holiday season a little brighter by those served by the organization. The Topeka Salvation Army plans to use the funds for the food pantry, meals, the organization's utility program and other needs. The tribe has also hand delivered a $10,000 check to Topeka Let's Help, Inc, an organization that serves families by providing emergency assistance. The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation accepts contribution requests through the year and distributes awards on a quarterly basis.
