(KAIR)--An Atchison man arrested last month after reporting a crime that police say never happened has entered a guilty plea to his charges.
21-year-old Chad Gorrell, Junior plead last week in Atchison County District Court to one felony count of interference with law enforcement. That stemmed from his telling police he had been a victim of an attack that sent him to the hospital.
Investigators say that while Gorrell did require stitches for facial injuries, the altercation arose from his attempt to sell fake drugs, and not as he told it.
He was charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful misrepresentation that a non-controlled substance is a controlled substance for attempting to pass off some other item as methamphetamine.
Sentencing for Gorrell is set for the morning of January 29th.
