(KNZA)--The Brown County Historical Society will seek a new director.
That follows this month’s resignation of Eric Oldham, who had served as director since January 2009.
Oldham, whose last day was December 11th, told MSC News he has taken a job as a portfolio manager at the Morrill and Janes Bank in Hiawatha.
Historical Society Board Member Mary Waite said Oldham has been a “ terrific asset” for the Historical society.
Board members, who were present at Monday’s Hiawatha City Commission meeting, indicated the organization plans to pursue another full-time director.
The Historical Society is seeking financial support from the city to help pay for a director’s salary.
The organization’s funding through the Francis Sewell Plamann Trust, which has been used to pay the salary, ends in 2017.
The Commission plans to discuss the matter at their next meeting on January 4th.
