Michael Bradford

(KAIR)--A stolen vehicle and counterfeit bills.

That's what Atchison Police say led to the weekend arrest  of 38-year-old Michael Bradford.

Lieutenant Tim Stout says the arrest was made Saturday morning when police were alerted that someone was asleep in a vehicle, parked in a lot in the 300 block of North 5th Street. “During the investigation, officers discovered Bradford asleep in this vehicle,” Stout tells MSC News. “Upon further investigation, they discovered that the vehicle Bradford was in was reported stolen from Platte City, Missouri on September 7th of this year. They also discovered two counterfeit bills in the vehicle as well.”

Bradford was taken into custody on charges of possession of stolen property and counterfeiting.

He was booked into the Atchison County Jail where he's held on a bond of $15,000.
