(KAIR)--Continue attracting and retaining quality employees.
That's among the 2016 Atchison City Commission Goals; and, to achieve it, the Commission set a 2016 budget priority of implementing an employee pay adjustment.
Simply put, the goal means that employees of the City of Atchison will receive raises, and that's expected to happen Monday when the City Commission holds its regular session.
According to documents included with the agenda for Monday's session, the Commission, when establishing the 2016 budget, approved the equivalent of a 1.8% increase for pay plan adjustments for city employees in good status.
That figure was based on the Kansas City Region Consumer Price Index calculation at the time the budget was approved.
On Monday, the Commission will decide whether or not to approve the cost of living raise.
The meeting is set to begin at 4:30 at Atchison City Hall.
