(KNZA)--The Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribe has a new chief of police.
Recently named to the position was Wade Schneider, who has served as assistant chief since 2013 and been with the department since 2000.
Prior to working for the Tribe, Schneider worked for the Perry and Winchester Police Departments from 1998 to 2000.
Schneider replaces Shawn Walker.
The Prairie Band Police Department has 21 staff members, including 12 officers.
Schneider lives in Meriden with his wife, Cristy, and their daughter, Sydney.
