(KAIR)--The management of a Saint Joseph, Missouri apartment complex that served as the nearby setting of a Tuesday afternoon shooting is speaking out about the incident.
According to a press release from the Hillcrest Transitional Housing Apartment Complex, the non-fatal shooting was in no way related to the residents or staff, according to the police investigation to this point.
The release says the incident happened in an alley located on the property of the Hillcrest.
Police say a 23-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries in the shooting that happened around 4:00. He was treated at an area hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Hillcrest Apartments are located at 3000 Parkway, in Saint Joseph, and are a non-profit agency that helps the homeless regain self-sufficiency.
