$60,000 Bus Grant for Auburn Public Schools

(KLZA)-- The Auburn Public Schools has been awarded $60,000 by the U.S. Environemental Protection Agency to repalce or retrofit three school buses.

This is the third round of rebates and the second tiem the Auburn PUblic Schools have been selected.

Superintendent Kevin Raiman says they are excited to receive the grants. Bids have been solicited for new buses and Reiman expects to award the bids in Februray.

As part of the program to replace or retrofit 400 older diesel school buses across the country, the buses taken out of service must be made non-usable. The frames of the old buses will be cut in two and a hole will be drilled in the engine block.
