OK Given For Hiawatha Theater Opening

(KNZA)--The okay is given for the re-opening of the Arrow Twin Theater in downtown Hiawatha.

The announcement comes from the Hiawatha ACES, the organization who took on the challenge of seeing the theater remodeled, and reopened, after a past ballot initiative for a city-owned theater failed.

In a posting on the ACES Facebook page, the Arrow Twin is now set to open December 17th, in time for the release of “The Force Awakens,” the latest installment in the Star Wars film franchise.

Last week, ACES Chairman Ian Schuetz said it was not known if the application process required to show the film would be completed in time for a December 18th opening.

However, with the legal process now out of the way, the theater will open a day early, with guests to be greeted with a new sound system, new screens, new seats, handicapped accessibility, digital projection, and new management.

The overhaul was made possible through numerous volunteer hours provided by Schuetz and other ACES members, along with the public.
