(KAIR)--A Raytown, Missouri man is facing legal trouble, cited this week for illegally hunting in Atchison County.
Sheriff Jack Laurie says it happened around 10:15 Thursday night after a property owner, at 222nd and Chautauqua Road, reported that lights were spotted and a gun shot was heard.
Deputies arrived on the scene and located Joshua Gerety.
Laurie says Gerety now faces charges of criminal hunting and using artificial light for the purpose of harvesting game.
Gerety, who was not found to be in possession of any wildlife, was released at the scene with a notice to appear in Atchison County District Court.
