(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners heard an update from County Clerk Mary Eickhoff Tuesday on the application being submitted to the Nebraska Secretary of State for approval of the Arago/Barada precinct to be considered a “Mail-in Only Precinct” for the 2016 elections.
A survey was done in the rural voting precincts and Arago/Barada voters responded with 63% in favor of becoming a Mail-in Only Precinct. This will be done for the 2016 elections as a trial for Richardson County.
A formal proposal was remitted to the Richardson County Road Department Union for the July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017 contract. It includes a 2% raise on July 1, 2015 and a 2% raise on July 1, 2016.
In addition, the Board approved a resolution to close a portion of 651 Avenue, south of 704 Road to the north bank of the Pony Creek. No opposition was heard to the closure during a public hearing last week.
