(KNZA)--A woman is dead and a rural Mayetta man is in custody following what authorities say was an early Saturday morning deadly stabbing.
Dead is 49-year-old Leann Sanchez, of Mayetta, who is believed to have been living at the 18836 M. Road rural Mayetta residence of 49-year-old Wilson Noriega.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says that's the address where his office and Potawatomi Tribal Police responded to around 12:45 Saturday morning.
Noriega was arrested in connection with the death of Sanchez.
Noriega is being held in the Jackson County Jail on charges of first degree murder, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond has been set at one million dollars.
Sheriff's Deputies and Potawatomi Tribal Police Officers processed the scene throughout the morning.
The investigation is ongoing.
