(KMZA)--Arson is the suspected cause of several recent Nemaha County grass fires.
Sheriff Rich Vernon, says the fires, happening primarily just south of Seneca, have drawn suspicion from investigators. “In recent weeks we have looked into several fires that were suspicious in origin,” Vernon tells MSC News. “We're asking the public to report any suspicious activity that they may see out in the public. If they can get a vehicle description or a tag number that would be great. Try to help us out in locating some possible arsonists that may be working in the area.”
Anyone with any information related to the fires is urged to contact the Nemaha County Sheriff's Department at 785-336-2311.
