(KLZA)--A jury trial has been set for a Falls City man accused in the August shooting death of his cousin.
34-year-old Desiderio Hernandez pleaded “ not guilty” Tuesday in Richardson County District Court to charges of first-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
A jury trial was set beginning February 8th, and is expected to take five to six days.
Hernandez is accused of shooting Joseph Debella Jr. during an argument at a Falls City home on August 4th. He died eight days later at a Lincoln hospital.
If convicted, Hernandez faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.
He remains in the Richardson County Jail on a $1.5 million bond.
