(MSC News)--Veterans day observances are planned in several area communities Wednesday.
In Holton, a parade and other special events are planned. The parade will take place at 1:00 around the Square.
The annual community veterans dinner will be held at 6:00 in the evening at the Holton Armory. The dinner is open to all members of public.
In Horton, the annual Veterans Day parade will be held at 2:00 down Central Avenue and East 8th Streets. The parade is sponsored by the Horton American Legion and VFW.
In Falls City, the annual Veterans Day Program will be held in the Falls City High School gymnasium at 11:00. The public is invited to attend. The Veterans Day Message will be delivered by Ken Simpson, an Air Force Veteran from Falls City who serves as the Commander of American Legion Post #102 in Falls City and is the Co-Chair of the Veterans Day Committee.

In addition to the morning program the public is invited to attend the Veterans Day Parade at 1:30 in the afternoon from 20th & Stone Street to 13th & Stone Street.
The annual Veterans Day Dinner and Program will be held at 6 in the evening at the First United Methodist Church at 1700 Harlan Street.
The Falls City Veterans Day Celebration is entitled “Heroes! Honoring All Who Served.”
In Atchison, the Atchison Elks Lodge #647 will be holding a Veterans Appreciation dinner, starting at 6:00 at the lodge. All Vets are invited to be guests of honor at the event. In addition, the Battle Buddy Service Dogs, a veteran operated, non-profit organization that provides vets suffering from PTSD with service dogs, will also be in attendance. The event is free, and everyone is invited to attend.
