It’s that time of the year again! Payment processing has begun in the Brown County FSA Office. For this year, there were a couple of changes that we wanted producers to be aware of:
For 2015 Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) Annual Rental Payments – These payments were triggered in two different batches, based on two different Farm Bill Implementations (2002 and 2008) by Washington DC. In previous years, all CRP Payments (no matter what Farm Bill category the contract was a part of) were issued at the same time. Payments for the 2002 Farm Bill CRP Contracts were issued on Friday, October 2. Payments for the 2008 Farm Bill CRP Contracts were issued on Friday, October 9. If a producer has only one contract, depending on what Farm Bill Implementation he or she is enrolled under. Your payment statement shouldn’t be any different than in past years. Just be aware that if a producer has multiple 2002 and 2008 Farm Bill CRP Contracts, payments could come into your banking accounts on different days and you may receive multiple payment statements. Because of this change, we felt that you needed to know the difference, as our office has taken phone calls from producers.
For 2014 Price Loss Coverage (PLC) Contracts – Final Crop Prices have been published for base acres that enrolled in Price Loss Coverage (PLC), in Brown County there will be no payments for crop base acres enrolled into PLC.
For 2014 Agriculture Risk Coverage – County Option (ARC-CO) Contracts – Even though final crop prices have been published for crop bases in Brown County, yields have not. At the time of this newsletter, there has not been any announcement yet of final yields to establish potential payments. If there are payments for 2014 ARC-CO Contracts, the projected timetable is late October.
