Riverside Schools Hire Security Firm
10/15/2015

(KNZA)--Being proactive in a national climate of violence.

That's the reason for the hiring of a private security firm at the Riverside USD 114 Schools.

The Board of Education Monday made the unanimous decision to expend $15,000 dollars to contract with Troy's Nathan Keller Security.

The Kansas Chief reports that Superintendent Mike Newman says that while there's no security problems in the district, the leadership is trying to respond to the occurrences of violence on school campuses throughout the nation.

Three officers will be utilized for security, with one to be stationed at the front entrance of the Elwood campus and two at the entrance of the Wathena campus.
