(MSC News)--The cause of a fire that ravaged nearly 35 acres of soybeans Monday remains under investigation.
KQ2-TV reports the strong afternoon winds helped spread the flames once the fire started west of Highland on Thrasher road.
It took four fire crews to get the fire under control in around 2 hours after it began around 3:30.
The National Weather Service this past weekend issued a statement regarding the fire dangers produced by the current dry weather and gusty winds.
