(KLZA)-- Arraignment for a Falls City man accused of first-degree murder has been continued.
That happened Tuesday in Richardson County District Court, where the case involving 34-year-old Desiderio Hernandez was continued until the morning of October 20th.
Hernandez is charged with first-degree murder along with additional felony charges of use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
He's accused of the August 4th shooting death of his cousin, Joseph Debella Jr. at a Falls City home. Recent testimony from a Nebraska State Patrol Investigator revealed that Hernandez, after he was arrested, admitted to shooting the 31-year-old with the victim's own .22 caliber handgun.
Debella died at a Nebraska hospital eight days after the shooting.
The continuance came at the request of the prosecution.
