(KAIR)--A Valley Falls man was arrested Thursday afternoon in Atchison County, after allegedly endangering a 4-year-old child.
Sheriff Jack Laurie says deputies were dispatched to a residence located in the 200 block of Decatur Road for a report of an intoxicated suspect who had allegedly placed the child on a motorcycle and left the scene. 26-year-old Eric Pennington was located at another residence a short time later, and taken into custody. The child was not at the residence, but was found not to be injured.
Pennington was transported to the Atchison County Jail where he allegedly became combative with jail staff and deputies before assaulting the officers. He was booked into the jail on charges including driving under the influence, driving while suspended, aggravated endangering a child, assault, and interference with law enforcement.
