(KAIR)--An Everest teen facing charges stemming from an injury wreck that took place in June, has had his case continued.
19-year-old Brandon Olberding made an appearance in Atchison County District Court Friday morning, where the case was continued after his attorney informed the judge that he was working on a plea deal, and needed more time to finalize it.
A new hearing date was set for September 18th.
Olberding has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery, one count of possession of alcohol by a minor, and numerous other traffic related charges in connection with a June 28th wreck that took place on Highway Nine near Monrovia. Olberding, and 19-year-old Effingham resident Zakkery Hollands were allegedly driving dirt bikes without headlights, and collided head on. Hollands, and a passenger on Olberding's bike were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
Hollands is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on October 16th.
