(MSC News)--Meth use by guardians, a dangerous environment, and ultimately physical abuse, all led to the death of a one-year-old Saint Joseph, Missouri child.
That's the allegation made by authorities as charges are filled against two people in connection with the boy's death.
KQ2-TV is reporting that 28-year-old Sasha Lizar is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, while 59-year-old Roy Kenneth Miller, Jr. is charged with felony abuse resulting in death.
The child, identified by the TV station as Carter Lizar, died at a Kansas City hospital on August 27th, the day of his 1st birthday.
Miller is accused of violently shaking the child, resulting in brain trauma that led to his death.
Lizar is accused of using meth while caring for the child, and leaving him with others who used meth.
