Pastor Jerry Petering, Board President of NAMI Pony Express presented a check for $500.00 to Betty Jones and Jim Brennan to support KJ’s Memorial Fund and the 2nd Annual “I Believe” Fight Against Suicide benefit ride on September 12th.
Along with the benefit ride and auction, Jeff Yalden, a mental health professional and one of America’s leading youth motivational speakers, will speak to youth from Hiawatha, Horton and Kickapoo Nation high schools on Monday, September 14 and again on Tuesday, September 15th to Falls City high schools. Another event open to the public will take place on September 15 at 6 p.m. at Hiawatha High school. Parents and the community at large are encouraged to attend. NAMI Pony Express is a support group for the National Alliance on Mental Illness and serves the Brown, Doniphan and Nemaha Counties. They are proud to offer support for this important local campaign against suicide.
