(KNZA)--A new Game Warden is selected to oversee Atchison and Doniphan Counties.
He's Ben Elsass, who comes to the local area from Wellington, Kansas.
His role with the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism stems from a background related to the position. “My dad actually taught hunter ed growing up. He was a law enforcement officer, and so I had that background with me. It was just something I grew up into,” Elsass told LJ Trant, host of the “Outdoors In Kanzaland” radio program. “I really look forward to working with the public, I look forward to being able to communicate back and forth and help some folks out when I can.”
The selection of Elsass to oversee Atchison and Doniphan Counties full time means a change in other local wildlife leadership. That includes the reassignment of Brown and Doniphan County Natural Resource Officer Scott Stoughton, who will now oversee Brown and Nemaha Counties.
