(KNZA)--A St. Marys man was killed Wednesday evening in a single-vehicle crash on the Pottawatomi Tribal Reservation in Jackson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Artak Nicholas McCarthy was westbound on 134th Road about 3 ½ miles west of U.S. 75 when for an unknown reason he lost control of his Honda Accord. His vehicle went off the south side of the road and struck some trees.
McCarthy, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The wreck was reported shortly before 7:30.
