(KNZA)--The Doniphan County Commission has published a proposed 2016 budget of $10.5 million that maintains the same property tax levy.
The proposed budget contains an estimated tax rate of 46.734 mills, which is to generate $5.4 million.
Even though the mill levy will remain the same, the county will collect an additional $415,000 in tax revenue due to a nearly $9 million increase in the county’s assessed valuation.
The Commission will consider adoption of the budget following a public hearing at their August 24th meeting.
