(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners Tuesday approved a quote for the construction of a box culvert in the Dawson area.
The quote from Collins Construction was for just over $250,000.
The Board also heard from Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert that the Nebraska Department of Roads is moving the Verdon Northwest bridge project to the bid letting stage at the end of June.
In other business, Road Department union members and a union representative met with Commissioners to continue the negotiations to develop a contract for July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.
The Board presented a proposal including paying 100 percent of the single premium for health insurance for regular full-time employees, contributing funds to a medical reimbursement account for such employees allowed by the IRS Treasury law; a 2-percent pay raise for 2015 and 2 percent again in 2016, or the County will maintain current health insurance coverage for the term of the contract period, but if premiums increase over 6 percent in any fiscal year that would cause a change in coverage and the county and union would negotiate the coverage.
The union representatives will submit the proposal to the group for review and consideration.
