(KAIR)--The Atchison County Commission has completed the process of purchasing a new ambulance for the county's EMS service.
Commission Chair Jeff Schuele says the commission voted 3-0 Tuesday to approve the purchase of a new, 2016 model ambulance for approximately $475,000.
Schuele says the new ambulance is expected to be delivered in approximately 2-3 months, and will replace an aging model that has been in service for about fourteen years.
The Commission also voted 3-0 to approve the purchase of two new heart monitors for an amount just over $47,000.
