(KLZA)-- Shawna Mitchell, County Executive Director Richardson County Farm Service Agency, reminds area producers of approaching deadlines. February 27, 2015 is the last day for a landowner to update farm yield history and/or reallocate crop base acres. Producers are encouraged to bring in their yield information for 2008-2012 and initiate this process. A current landowner on the farm is required to sign for this update. Powers of Attorneys are accepted. If this deadline is missed the farm will simply retain the current yield and base information.
March 31, 2015 is the last day for a producer to make the one-time election of ARC or PLC for 2014-2018 crop years. If a program is not elected, the farm will default to PLC for 2015-2018 crop years. The farm will also be ineligible for any potential program payments for 2014.
To accommodate producers and to meet the February 27 deadline, the Richardson County FSA office is offering appointments starting at 6:30 am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, as well as, evening appointments until 7:00 pm. Please call to set up an appointment at 402-245-2401 extension 2. For more information about the ARC and PLC programs, please visit www.fsa.usda.gov/arc-plc.
