(KAIR)--An Atchison man is in custody for his alleged role in an altercation last week.
According to Police Lieutenant Tim Stout, officers responded to a call in the 1000 block of Ash Street just after 1:30 Saturday afternoon regarding a fight that had taken place earlier that day.
Police were able to determine that the 20-year-old male victim was at a residence located in the 1000 block of North Tenth Street when he was allegedly kicked several times in the face while he was on the ground by 30-year-old Jeffrey Federinko Jr.
Officers were able to locate Federinko a short time later at a residence located in the 1200 block of South Eighth Street. After a short foot chase, Federinko was arrested and booked into the Atchison County Jail on charges including aggravated battery and interference with law enforcement.
Stout says the victim received treatment at the Atchison Hospital for various facial injuries.
