(KNZA)--A 26-year-old Troy man has pleaded not guilty to charges in the shooting death of his 25-year-old roommate last August.
Eric Burge entered the plea Wednesday in Doniphan County District Court to second-degree murder, felony criminal discharge of a firearm in an occupied dwelling, aggravated battery and a misdemeanor count of hosting minors in consumption of alcoholic beverages.
A jury trial was set for January 20th-23rd.
Burge is charged in the shooting death of Matthew Sollars. Sollars died August 13th, one day after the shooting at a residence where the two men resided southwest of Troy.
Burge was arrested last October following an investigation by the Doniphan County Sheriff’s Department and Kansas Bureau Investigation.
He remains in the Doniphan County Jail on $500,000 bond.
